Mercury display its best defense in victory over Indiana Fever

The Phoenix Mercury have dealt with adversity all season long and added the recent departure of center Tina Charles to its ongoing saga.

However, the team accomplished what it’s searched for all season and played its most connected defense. As a result, the Mercury won 83-71 over the Indiana Fever on Monday at Footprint Center.

“We know we’re trying to find some momentum, especially going into the All-Star break. We’re trying to build something and feed off each other and I thought we did a good job of that, especially in the fourth and getting some key stops,” Mercury guard Skylar Diggins-Smith said.
