Former UConn women’s basketball guard Evina Westbrook was waived from the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx, the team announced Friday afternoon.
Westbrook was signed by Minnesota on May 13 after initially being waived by the Seattle Storm on the last day of training camp. She played 14 games for the Lynx, starting two, and averaged 2.6 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 12.3 minutes per game.
Her best outing came on June 7 against New York — she has five points along with four assists, two steals and three rebounds in 22 minutes.
Westbrook was selected by Seattle in the second round, 21st overall, in April’s WNBA Draft.
